Friern Barnet Summer School

This summer, we are working with Friern Barnet School to run a ‘show in a week’ summer school.

Working with two artists, Friern Barnet Pupils will create a ‘show in a week,’ culminating in a performance taking place at artsdepot’s studio theatre. Jordana Golbourn is working on the project as theatre practitioner, taking the pupils through a creative devising process. Grace Venning will work with a group of the pupils to create a set and costume design for the performance. Both artists will balance delivering a good quality production with an enjoyable and fulfilling process, with the focus on the pupil’s mental health and wellbeing.

We will be working with up to 20 pupils in Key Stage 3 from Friern Barnet School, including pupils who have been at the school’s Inclusion Hub and some selected students who are either on their enhanced arts programme or have shown enthusiasm for the subject.

The project will take place from Monday 2 - Friday 6 August, culminating in a performance in artsdepot’s studio theatre on Friday 6 August for an invited audience.

This project is supported by John Lyon’s charity.
