Amy Hodge, 7 - 75

Amy Hodge

Residency Dates: Mon 18 - Fri 22 Apr 2016

Amy Hodge is a theatre director based in London. She has directed work in venues across the UK including the Young Vic, the Tricycle, the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Hampton Court Palace. Her production of Am I Dead Yet? can be seen at The Traverse during the 2015 Edinburgh Festival. Amy was Studio Associate at the National Theatre 2013-14, Recipient of the Jerwood Directors Award 2007 and is about to join Headlong as Creative Associate.

During her residency, Amy explored the physical language of a piece of dance-theatre set in a home for the elderly. Having carried out extensive research in a home for the elderly Amy wanted to find which parts of the story could be told solely through the body. Where the crossover between dance and text was and how this interplay could create innovation in story telling. This was formally inventive, cross art form piece of work, putting the unheard voice of the elderly on our stages. This will be Amy’s second piece of dance-theatre having recently created 7-75 for The Place.
