Inspector Sands
Inspector Sands is a female-led, Barnet-based touring theatre company of 20 years standing.
Co-directed by Lucinka Eisler and Giulia Innocenti, they make collaboratively devised theatre that explores the way social and political pressures shape the detail of everyday behaviour, particularly the tension between a person’s public and private selves.
They will be developing their new show Search Party – the story of a woman who tries to go on holiday to Iceland but instead finds herself searching for a missing person among the volcanoes of Eldgja. Part drama, part thriller, part farce, Search Party takes on themes of invisible women, migration and superpowers. They will be exploring a sung voice evocation of the Icelandic landscape and working towards collaboration with community choirs and perhaps even singing audiences.
Inspector Sands are the recipients of this year’s Barnet-based Artist Residency.
