Thank you! We are blown away by your generosity.
Since announcing our (temporary) closure on Tuesday 17 March we've received a huge response from our audiences and stakeholders. In just one week, 312 people donated £7,024. This is in addition to regular donations through our membership scheme. The Arts Council has confirmed its continued support and many of our trust and foundation partners have relaxed or postponed the terms of their support.
Adding the various support measures announced by the government, we are confident we will pull through this and bounce back to serve our communities, once the current restrictions end. We are now working remotely trying to provide engaging and positive content for our social media, including creative learning & personal development opportunities for all ages. We are also laying the seeds for future community projects, and the return of our creative programme.
A difficult decision we've made is to cancel our pantomime Aladdin - The Rockin' Panto. As we are processing tickets refunds and event fees for upcoming shows, while honouring contracts with artists and project staff, we know our cash flow won't support the considerable cost and risk of mounting a professional pantomime in difficult economic times. As soon as we can reopen, we will work tirelessly to rebuild our bank balance and hopefully stage another rockin' pantomime in December 2021.
Thanks so much for your patience, care, support, and good humour. We hope we can continue to amuse you through our social media feeds and emails, and look forward to welcoming you back to the venue once we've all collectively weathered this storm.
Stay safe & much love, from everyone at artsdepot xxx
