Published: Fri 12 Jun 2020

We are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring Victor Esses to become a member of the National Freelance Task Force.

Victor Esses is a Theatre and Performance Maker working with live art, storytelling and autobiographical material to investigate belonging and human connection for imagining and creating better futures.

He is Associate Artist to CASA Theatre Festival, has been nominated for an International Press Award, and has been associate director to maverick international director Gerald Thomas. His piece Where to Belong was shortlisted for an Emerge Performance Prize, it was developed and supported by CASA, and presented at Southwark Playhouse and Rich Mix.

You can find out more about Victor here.

The Freelance Task Force has been set up so that the 70% of the theatre / performance workforce who are self-employed or freelance can be better represented in vital conversations about the sector’s response to the current crisis.

We are one of 138 organisations sponsoring freelancers for the Freelance Task Force - 117 freelancers are in place, with the last few being appointed in the coming days. Recruitment is ongoing, however we wanted to share some information about representation in the taskforce so far, which you can read here.
