The artsdepot team is excited to announce this year’s winners of the Young Artists Summer Exhibition, an inspired exhibition of work created by artists aged 11 – 25 from North London. Viktor M, Siena Romano and Holly Elan Watson have been awarded first, second and third place for their outstanding artistry by panellists Maria Devaney (Galleries & Exhibitions Leader at Kew Gardens) and Paul Regan (Founder and Director of Insight Art School). Additionally, Alexander Aliev, Jennifer M-z, Joanna Zdunik, Laurie Fitzgerald, Marisa, Mikaila F, Nicole Di and Sarah W have been awarded National Art passes for their highly commended artwork.

This is the first year artsdepot has hosted the Young Artists Summer Exhibition and we have been blown away by the calibre of work that has been submitted by North London’s young people. Previously we have hosted the artsdepot Open which has celebrated the talent and creativity of artists in Barnet and beyond since its opening in 2004.

Maria Devaney the Galleries & Exhibitions Leader at Kew Gardens and Paul Regan who is the Founder and Director of Insight Art School joined artsdepot staff on the judging panel. Prizes were awarded to the three most distinguished works - a first prize of a £150 Cass Art Voucher, a second prize of £100 Cass Art Voucher and a third prize of £75 Cass Art Voucher. Two highly commended artists in each age category (11 - 14, 15 - 18 and 19 - 25) were awarded a National Art Pass. Three additional National Art Passes for highly commended artworks were donated by Insight School of Art in Whetstone.

This year’s First Prize winner was Viktor M for there’s a fine line between androgyny and dysphoria, the Second Prize went to Siena Romano for Windows to the Soul and the Third Prize went to Holly Elan Watson for Wet Hair Warm Skin.

The Young Artists Summer Exhibition showcases the work of aspiring artists in the Apthorp Gallery, with visitors from Barnet and beyond able to experience a wide variety of high-quality work. This year’s Young Artists Summer Exhibition features a range of mediums including mixed media, painting, photography and more. 54 pieces are included in this year’s selection.

Young Artists Summer Exhibition can be seen until Thursday 26 August. Entrance is free.
