Commission for a musician to collaborate with Jez Colborne creating new music for an immersive performance premiering at artsdepot in November 2026.
Mind the Gap and artsdepot are seeking to commission a musician to collaborate with composer and performer Jez Colborne on Lighthouse, an immersive live performance blending music, light and sound.
The selected artist will create 10 – 15 minutes of new music to integrate into the existing score, contributing a distinct sonic voice while complementing the work’s evolving soundscape. The project will premiere at artsdepot in November 2026, with potential for future touring. You can listen to a sample of the existing music in the link below.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in music creation, with experience in electronic genres, sound design, or immersive audio. They will be confident working collaboratively and remotely, and interested in blending found sound, atmospheric composition, and contemporary styles.
To be considered for this commission, please send a short letter outlining your interest in the production and how you meet the personal specification detailed in the Information Pack (downloadable below), your CV, and 2 – 3 short samples of your work, to commissions@artsdepot.co.uk
The deadline to submit applications is Monday 6 July, 10am
Composers Jez Colborne and James Heselwood describe the production of Lighthouse that will be performed at artsdepot, and invite applications from artists for music and animation commissions for a new section of the show.
