The Rose & The Thorn

The Rose & The Thorn is an immersive evening by String of Pearls Ensemble and the Dunya Dance Collective, created in celebration of the collective’s inaugural launch. Together, twelve women invite audiences into the inner and outer gardens — where the rose and the thorn remain inseparable companions on the path of love.

Through Sufi poetry, storytelling, song, kamancheh, daf and the mesmerizing presence of six Sufi whirlers, the performance unfolds as a living tapestry rooted in the sacred feminine and the mystic traditions of the East, arriving at one eternal remembrance: ‘Only love can lead the way.’ — Rumi.
