Nichola Charalambou has lived and worked in the local area for nearly 25 years. She is the founder of Creative Writes, based in Muswell Hill, and has been running creative writing workshops since 2009. With a deep knowledge of writing across genres – including poetry, memoir, creative non-fiction, and script – Nichola brings a wealth of subject expertise, along with warmth, enthusiasm, and a thoughtful approach to facilitation. Her workshops are known for being fun, inclusive, and gently guided, creating a supportive space where writers of all experience levels feel encouraged to express themselves. Over the years, Nichola has built up an extraordinary collection of writing resources – so many, in fact, that she’s almost had to negotiate with her bookshelves for living space! Drawing on everything from images and objects to soundscapes and literature, she has worked with a multitude of organisations such as the Claremont Project, the Wellcome Collection and Tate Modern.
