Come along to Colindale Communities Trust at Grahame Park and dive into arts workshops and hands‑on creative activities led by local people.

Presented in Partnership with Colindale Communities Trust. This event is part of Fun Palaces 2026, a weekend of free community events taking place all over the country.

What’s On:

Colindale North Creatives: Drop‑In Art Lab
A rotating programme of hands‑on art activities for all ages — natural print‑making, pebble painting and quick collage portraits. Drop in across the day as sessions change; no experience needed.
Session Times:
11am – 12.15pm — Vegetable Printing
12.45pm – 2pm — Pebble Painting
2.30pm – 3.30pm  — Quick Collage

Blooming Creativity: From Seeds to Flowers (11am – 4pm)
Led by Esperanza Walsh — multi-disciplinary artist & art psychotherapist
This activity celebrates floral blooms through colourful collages made from torn paper, seeds and tissue paper. It’s open to participants of all ages, abilities and creative experience who are willing to immerse themselves in tearing paper, engaging with the texture of seeds, and creating something uniquely beautiful.

Eco‑Friendly Linen Shopper Bag Painting (11am – 1pm)
Join professional art educator Tetiana Bereslavets for a creative, hands‑on masterclass in painting eco‑friendly linen shopper bags. Participants will design and customise their own reusable tote bags using specialised fabric paints — a relaxing and fun activity where everyone gets to take home their unique handmade creation.

Reset Collective: Family Arts & Crafts with Shumi (11am – 4pm)
Join Shumi from Reset Collective for local arts and crafts for all the family.
Activities include:
Children’s bead and charm bracelets or necklaces
Autumn leaf crowns — particularly suited to children under seven
Magic wand making — particularly suited to children under five
Adult charm making — subject to availability, offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis

Henna Art with Sairah (11am – 4pm)
Sairah creates a mixture of traditional and modern designs, everything from quick, simple designs for children to more detailed floral, paisley and traditional henna designs. Sairah particularly enjoys community events and being able to create something different for each person.

Face Painting with Isma Yaqib (11am – 4pm)
Join local artist Isma Yaqib for fun face‑painting designs throughout the day.

Burnt Oak Nepalese Community Stall (11am – 4pm)
Burnt Oak Nepalese Community members will be selling their handwoven keyrings.

Maxability Ceramics Stall (11am – 4pm)
Maxability is a ceramics studio based on the Grahame Park Estate in Colindale. They offer inclusive and accessible pottery classes to disabled people and local residents. At the Fun Palace, they’ll  be selling their students’ beautiful work — all lovingly handmade at Maxability. All proceeds go directly to students or are donated to Maxability at the student’s request.

ODJ Sketch (11am – 4pm)
Colindale‑raised DJ ODJ Sketch brings a feel‑good mix of family‑friendly tunes across Soul, R&B, Pop, Reggae, AfroBeats, Disco, Soca, Motown, Amapiano and more. His recent events include playing at Watford Palace Theatre for two England World Cup football watch parties, and he regularly supports local community events with warm, uplifting sets.

Metal embossing with Ayesha Sureya (2pm – 4pm)
During this session people are invited to work with Ayesha who will draw from their background in jewellery to explore the creation of totems and talismans for you to take home. Using the technique of metal embossing we will consider the impressions symbols into metal as symbolic for our own identity, power and belonging.

Free Salsa Taster Sessions at Fun Palaces
Join Mau, founder of Colindale Salsa, Bachata & Fitness, for free taster sessions you can sign up for on the day. Colindale Salsa, Bachata & Fitness is on a mission to get people of all ages moving, active and living a healthy lifestyle. Mau believes in the power of dance to bring people together, build confidence and create a healthy, connected community.

Movement Class for Over 65s – 11.45am (30 mins)
Gentle, supportive movement for older adults and those with limited mobility.

Adults Salsa Class – 1.30pm (30 mins)
A fun, beginner‑friendly Salsa taster — great music, simple steps, no experience needed.

Intergenerational Dance Party – 3.15pm (30 mins)
A joyful, high‑energy session for kids, adults and families to dance together.
