Supported by funding from the Ove Arup Foundation, the Apthorp Architecture Exhibition was an exciting project delivered by socially engaged architects with the aim of creatively connecting young people to themes of sustainability.
Each year, three schools (one secondary, one SEN, one primary) participated in workshops exploring sustainability and the built environment, and created artworks, culminating in a group exhibition at artsdepot’s Apthorp Gallery. The groups were also invited to a celebration session bringing all the students together to recognise their achievements and see their collaboration come to life.
For Spring 2025, MATT+FIONA brought their knowledge and expertise to three schools in Barnet who worked towards a group exhibition held in the Easter Holidays. MATT+FIONA is an award-winning social enterprise that asks young people how their built environment might be improved and empowers them to bring that vision to life through their work, BUILD, LEARN, CONNECT.
