The Community Focus Summer Art Show 2026, reflects students' experiences, wisdom, skills and creativity.
Through paintings, 3D art, and poetry, students with disabilities or on the autistic spectrum have been developing their individual styles and techniques.
This exhibition is part of the debut Community Focus Disability & Arts Festival 2026, a month-long celebration of creativity, community and disabled-led artmaking at artsdepot, from 28 June to 24 July. Alongside the exhibition, visitors can enjoy a programme of free events including:
Exhibition Tour – Tue 7 Jul, 2pm – 3pm
Community Focus students and staff will guide you around our exhibition. They’ll tell you about the artists’ stories and inspirations behind these exciting pieces, including Laurent’s Royal Academy picture. This promises to be a fascinating and absorbing hour.
Drawing for Wellbeing Workshop – Thu 9 Jul, 6pm – 8pm
Give yourself the space and opportunity to learn new drawing skills and explore your style. You’ll use a variety of pencils and pastels to develop a still life in a calm, welcoming environment.
Exhibition Twilight Tour – Tue 14 Jul, 5pm – 6pm
This twilight tour of students’ work will be led by Community Focus students and staff. You’ll find out about the artists’ stories and inspirations behind these exciting pieces, including Laurent’s journey to being accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. This promises to be a fascinating and absorbing hour.
DIS-LABLED Discussion and Podcast – Thu 16 Jul, 6pm – 7pm (followed by networking and drinks)
You are invited to a lively hour of conversation and discussion about disability, neurodiversity and the arts. An opportunity for networking, connection and sharing ideas. Have your say and be heard! This session will be recorded for the Dis-labled Podcast and Resonance FM.
