What does listening mean to you? Join Dame Evelyn Glennie in a lively mediated conversation about her life, work and mission to teach the world to listen. The discussion will be augmented by a sprinkling of unusual sounds from The Evelyn Glennie Collection.
Dame Evelyn Glennie is the world’s premier solo percussionist. Her solo recordings exceed 40 CDs. A double GRAMMY award winner and BAFTA nominee, Evelyn composes for film, theatre and television. The Evelyn Glennie Podcast was launched in 2020. Evelyn was awarded an OBE in 1993 and has over 100 international awards to date, including the Polar Music Prize, the Léonie Sonning Music Prize and the Companion of Honour. artsdepot is delighted to present this ‘In Conversation’ event with Dame Evelyn Glennie as part of our 20th anniversary celebrations. Dame Evelyn formed part of artsdepot’s opening programme in 2004 with a premiere of the collaboration Pop with Mercury Prize nominee MJ Cole.
The conversation will be mediated by Gillian Moore and a young musician from Barnet Education Arts Trust.
