Stroud & Notes are a brand new original musical company conceived in the brain of queer singer-songwriter, Kyla Stroud.
Kyla dreams of spreading positivity, thoughtfulness and great music through theatre with a network of kind, talented and diverse collaborators.
As an artist, Kyla (aka LAKY) has supported the likes of Emelie Sandé and Rhys Lewis, plus they have a fancy-shmancy publishing deal with Kobalt music.
The ‘Notes’ team currently consists of theatre maker and cool cat Hannah Sands, boogier and movement director Natalie Stroud and odd sock-wearing singer-songwriter Marie White.
Stroud & Notes used their Artist Residency for their first R&D workshop for Public – The Musical, a one hour real-time story about four very different strangers who get stuck in a gender-neutral public toilet. Public is a musical about understanding difference, tolerance and laughter, things Stroud & Notes believe we all need in life.
Following work in progress performances at artsdepot and at Vault Festival, Public – The Musical had a sold out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2023 receiving multiple 5* reviews.
