The academic drawing classes are a great opportunity for kids who show an interest and talent for art and would like to expand their skills.
Today
Emma Spearing is an actor, theatre-maker and mother based in North Essex. Her work uses autobiographical stories, ritual and imagery to open up difficult conversations.
During the residency Emma will be re-developing her solo show Whole which aims to provoke conversations around complicated sibling relationships, grief, and the journeys we take to re-find ourselves in our darkest moments. Based on the experience of losing her identical twin sister, Charlie, in 2014, Whole explores the rupture that exists when we lose someone who completes us, and how we move forward.
Emma will be using the residency to explore questions around working with different performers / non-performers in the piece. She’ll also be looking at how we create space for communities to tend their grief. Using precious keepsakes/objects as a starting point, she’ll explore making an installation The Library of Precious Things that celebrates our loved ones and the stories they leave behind.
Collaborating team includes Kirsty Housley – (Director) and The Loss Project
