BOXVILLE is Touring into Schools

Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, John Lyon’s Charity and Barnet Council, we’re providing 10 schools each term with a free theatre performance, introducing students to accessible, professional theatre. This Autumn Term 2024 our Touring into Primary Schools performance is BOXVILLE.

Step into Boxville

Boxville is a hands-on, interactive performance created by the talented team of Designer Sam Wilde and Director Ian Nicholson (I Want My Hat Back Trilogy), who invite young audiences into an enchanting world made entirely from sustainable cardboard. With the guidance of the Boxville engineers, students craft along with the story, building their way through thrilling tasks and challenges and earning their status as “cardboard engineers” along the way. This unique STEM-inspired experience combines creativity and collaboration, teaching young learners about recycling and sustainability through imaginative play.

Children encounter many fun cardboard creatures on their journey, including paper dragons, corrugated crabs, and cardboard space robots, all while developing hands-on crafting skills that bring the adventure to life.

Boxville will tour primary schools in Barnet this Autumn, offering students aged 4 to 8 an interactive experience. Through hands-on participation, students join Boxville engineers, crafting alongside the story to solve problems and spark creativity. This program brings live theatre directly to students, making the arts accessible and opening doors to new creative possibilities. Performances run from  Mon 11 to Tue 19 Nov 2024.
