In Autumn 2020, artsdepot & Fly High Stories worked with four Primary Schools in Barnet on a Storytelling and Creative Writing Project.
Together Apart was a narrative-led storytelling project for Key Stage 1 and 2 students in which children met an astronaut who was stuck in space on the Starship Fly High. Working together, they created the story of how he got home again.
Fly High Stories focus on growth mindset as a way of helping young people talk about and process their emotions and Together Apart provided talking points around relevant themes of feeling alone, feeling together, and not quite knowing how to feel in a new world. Across the three online sessions and activities in between students created a letter, poem and instruction manual as well as contributing to collaboratively finishing the story.
