Camp Perform: Musical Theatre

We’re delighted to announce this year’s Musical Theatre Summer Camp at artsdepot, running for 11 days from Monday 3 – Friday 7 August and Monday 10 – Friday 14 August, culminating with a performance on Saturday 15 August. We’re excited to welcome both familiar faces and those joining us for the first time.

A smaller camp, a richer creative experience
In previous years, our summer camps have culminated in large‑scale productions in the Pentland Theatre. This summer, we’ll be working in the more intimate Studio Theatre with a smaller group of up to 30 performers.

With fewer participants, we’re able to offer a more personal, focused and creatively rich experience, with clearer support, deeper creative exploration and a new style of final sharing.

A brand‑new, original musical
This year, participants will perform in a newly devised musical theatre production:

The Theatre That Lost Its Magic
Using some of musical theatre’s most iconic songs, the show follows a group of performers who discover a forgotten theatre where the magic of performance has faded. Through creativity, courage and collaboration, they work together to bring it back to life.

Because the show is created around the group, every participant is fully involved:

• Each young person has a featured role and meaningful stage time
• Solos, duets and ensemble moments are tailored to individual strengths
• Participants help shape characters, scenes and the story
• Young people receive focused coaching and creative support

The camp will culminate in an original performance created especially for this group of young people, presented in the Studio Theatre.

Access
The camp is inclusive and accessible for young people with physical and learning disabilities.

Please tell us about your child’s needs as fully as possible in the application form so we can plan appropriate support in advance. Where appropriate, each camper will have an individual support plan developed with families and camp staff.

• Participants must be available for the full two weeks
• All information provided will be shared with Impact Theatre Company and artsdepot for the purposes of delivering the camp

Cost & booking information
The Musical Theatre Summer Camp costs £525 per child for the full two‑week programme (Mon 3 – Fri 7 Aug and Mon 10 – Sat 15 Aug, 10am–4pm, including lunch and snacks).

A £200 deposit per child is required once your application has been accepted, with the remaining balance due before the camp begins. You will receive an invoice from our Box Office team with full payment details. Payments can be made by phone by calling 020 8369 5454.

Sibling discount
If you book places for more than one child, a 10% discount is applied to the total booking cost.

Example costs

• 1 child: £525 (£200 deposit, £325 remaining)
• 2 children: £945 total (£400 deposit, £545 remaining)
• 3 children: £1,417.50 total (£600 deposit, £817.50 remaining)

Free HAF-funded places available
We have a limited number of 8 fully funded places available through the Barnet HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) / BACE scheme. These places are for children eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals in the London Borough of Barnet.

How to book a free place:

• Bookings open at 6pm on Friday 12 June
• You will need your child’s 16-digit Holiday Activity Code (provided by their school)
• Book directly via the BACE website: Book a HAF place

Please note: places are allocated through the BACE system, so we’re unable to book or guarantee places directly. If you think you’re eligible but haven’t received a code, please contact your child’s school as soon as possible. We recommend booking early, as places fill quickly.
