Our annual BOOK-tastic day celebrating books and reading.

Expect workshops and craft activities, book swapping, dressing up and lots more. Bring your imagination and a book to swap!

All activities are free, with the exception of a small charge for badge making.

The day includes:

Edible Books Craft Workshop, drop in from 11am – 4pm
Make, (and eat!) your own delicious edible book. Using wafer paper and edible ink, we’ll collage story ideas and draw inspiration from fairy tales and folklore to author your own tasty tale. 

Storytelling and Craft with local author, Lisa Ruggeri
Storytelling sessions – 12 – 12.45pm and 2.30 – 3.15pm
Craft sessions 11am – 4pm (except during storytelling sessions) 

Calling all families to join Lisa Ruggeri, a dynamic local children’s author, for an unforgettable day of storytelling, and creativity. 

Get ready to be whisked away on enchanting adventures as Lisa brings her beloved characters to life through captivating storytime sessions. With over 20 years of experience as a qualified primary school teacher and a knack for sparking imaginations, Lisa’s storytelling will ignite wonder and laughter in every child’s heart. 

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Dive into a world of crafts and creativity with Lisa as she guides little hands through exciting craft activities inspired by her magical tales. From rainbow flamingo feathers to shimmering rainbows, there’s no limit to the wonders waiting to be created! 

Family Playwriting Workshop with Fly High Stories, 11.15am – 12pm and 1.15 – 2pm
Join expert storytellers Fly High Stories to learn how to write a play which you can perform at home with your family or recreate in artsdepot’s pop up theatre (available to buy at our Box Office). In this 45 minute workshop you will create a unique story and a script so that you can go home and wow your friends and family with a spectacular (and tiny) theatre show just for them, created by YOU!  

All ages welcome but most suitable for 4+ and their adults 

Activities and storytelling with Jason Korsner, 12 – 2pm

Local Children’s author Jason Korsner will be leading some craft activities and reading from his children’s books at Book Buzz.

 Fancy Dress Parade – Cafe Foyer Area, 12.45 – 1pm
Come dressed as your favourite book character and celebrate in our fancy dress parade!

Pickled Pepper Books Stall, 11am – 4pm
Pickled Pepper Books is a specialist children’s bookshop and events space in Crouch End, North London. They host preschool activities and run an after-school Young Illustrators and a lively book group. Most weekends you can meet an author or illustrator, experience some theatre or visit their story time. Visit their stall at Book Buzz to find out more and buy a book!

Badge Making, 11am – 4pm
Design and make your own book themed badge. There is a cost for this activity – 50p per badge

Book Swap, 11am – 4pm
The infamous artsdepot book swap is back! Books for toddlers, children and adults. Make sure you bring some books with you to get swapping!
