Turbulent Waters is a solo exhibition of paintings by Julia Elmore who lives and works in East Barnet.
The exhibition will showcase a selection of works created in the studio the artist built in her garden following the first lockdown. In this new creative haven, Julia’s paintings shifted from being gentle nature-inspired abstracts to autobiographical landscapes evolving from a free flowing combination of memory, imagination and instinct.
The paintings offer a window on the artist’s inner life; bright flashes of hope and joy as well as the darker currents, constant shifts and uncertainties that are also reflected in the wider world.
