Touchpoints is an experimental, audio-based installation weaving together conversations with different people about their relationship to environmental stewardship in England. It is presented by Barnet-based artist, PhD researcher and London National Park City Ranger, Becky Lyon.
The artwork is an ‘audio collage’ bringing together diverse viewpoints-touchpoints across four important and current topics affecting how nature is taken care of in England: land access and right to roam; grassroots caretaking and volunteer labour; invasive species and rewilding and physical access and ableism.
The audience will hear diverse voices from government agencies, charity campaign managers, volunteer grassroots leaders, artists, land justice workers and local residents.
Presented on theatrical stages in Barnet throughout the London Festival of Architecture, this is a piece of living, evolving research that speaks to the drama, performance and complex choreography of a multi-voiced, multi-volume debate in England – sometimes in sync, discordant, on the same beat, out of rhythm.
At times throughout the installation, the public are invited to take part in one-on-one conversations with the artist and contribute their voice to the audio piece.
This event is part of London Festival of Architecture. See all events at artsdepot.
