The Drama Space is a ‘Black Box' studio offering a sprung floor, portable mirrors, a sound system and upright piano. The room is ideal for rehearsals, workshops, small scale and intimate performances, meetings, photo shoots and private social occasions.
The Drama Space is a ‘Black Box’ studio offering a sprung floor, portable mirrors, a sound system and upright piano. The room is ideal for rehearsals, workshops, small scale and intimate performances, meetings, photo shoots and private social occasions.
For small scale performances, low level rostra staging and audience seating can be provided within your hire fee. Temporary performance lighting and sound options are also available in this space (please speak to the Hires team for more details and charges). Public performances will need to be ticketed and we will require at least one Visitor Services Assistant to be present in the space to oversee public health & safety and emergency evacuation.

Hire fees
- Full Rate: £35 +VAT per hour or £260 + VAT for a full 8-hour day
- Charity Rate: £25 +VAT per hour or £180 + VAT for a full 8-hour day
- For small scale public performances there is a flat fee of £50 +VAT to manage box office and tickets for you rather than taking our standard ticket commission.
- Visitor Services Assistants (VSA) – £18 +VAT per hour per VSA with a minimum 2 hour call.
