London Festival of Architecture: Make a Sound Workshop

Starting with a backstage tour, you will explore the sound desk and learn how to adjust levels, balance audio, and understand its role in live performances. You will also discover how microphones are used to capture live sound on stage.

Afterwards, you will head out with recording equipment to capture environmental sounds and vox pops from around the artsdepot building. You will have VIP access to all areas including rehearsal spaces, dance, drama and art studios, the café, offices, backstage spaces, Pentland Theatre, Studio Theatre and Box Office! Your recordings will then be turned into an immersive audio composition by a professional Sound Artist, and feature in our public spaces for the duration of June.

This event is part of London Festival of Architecture 2025, a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making which takes place every June across London.
