Join one of the country’s longest established amateur ballet companies plus specially invited guests for a sparkling programme of dance.
The performances will feature a number of original creations showcasing the choreographic talents of the company’s dancers and founder.
The programme:
• Moods Mode, choreographed by Cassandra Jacobs: A one act ballet inspired by colour and emotion.
• Bolero, choreographed by Louise Hudson, Katrina Austin, and Jon Katzauer: A dynamic work with a contemporary edge for the full company.
• Waltz Ballerinas, choreographed by Thelma Lister: A classical piece inspired by the moods and choreography of Paquita.
• The Flower Festival in Genzano Pas de Deux, choreographed by August Bournonville: The only surviving part of a one-act ballet from 1858, it is one of Bournonville’s most perfect compositions.
• Two Movements from Bach Concerto, choreography by Louise Hudson: Louise’s first work for the company, choreographed when she was just a teenager.
• Postgrad Vibes, choreographed by Eleonora Moratto: A cathartic look at the choreographer’s experience navigating a male-dominated field of study at university.
• Abyss, choreographed by Naomi Smart: A dark, contemporary exploration of the ocean’s abyssal zone, and human fear of what lies beneath.
• Palladio, choreographed by Michelle Samson: A contemporary piece of dance inspired by the music of Karl Jenkins with themes of power and freedom.
• River, Farewell, Les Petits Rats de L’Opera, choreographed by Gaynor Zwaagstra: Three unique new pieces performed by guests artists from Liverpool.
