Winter Wonderland Winner Announced, Astrid, Age 6

Winter Wonderland Competition Winner Anounced

Published: Mon 21 Dec 2015

In November, we asked schools and community groups to participate in our Winter Wonderland design competition. Children submitted their own creations after being asked the question: "If you could design a Winter Wonderland, what would it look like?" and were given the chance to be displayed as a part of the new exhibition.

We were overjoyed with the enthusiastic response - from snowy forest scenes to festive fun fairs, we received over 200 entries from children of all ages. It was very difficult to choose a selection to display, as there were so many brilliant illustrations. artsdepot is so excited to have such creative and artistic children in our community!

Special thanks to Chambersbury Primary School, Cromer Road Primary School, Fortismere School, Menorah Primary School, Queenswell Junior School, Woodridge Primary School, and artsdepot children’s art classes for the enthusiastic response.

The winner of the competition is Astrid, age 6, from Cromer Road Primary School. Astrid’s idea of a Winter Wonderland included wintry woodland creatures and fluffy multi-media snow, and was selected as the winner by the cast and creative teams of our winter shows, Room on the Broom and Land of Lights. This lovely scene has won Astrid and her family a £30 voucher to see a show at artsdepot.

The exhibition features 70 fabulous submissions and will be on display in playdepot for everyone to enjoy until the end of January.
