Residency Dates: Mon 5 - Fri 16 Oct 2015
Certain Dark Things are an award-winning theatre company creating visually exciting productions with a dark twist. Combining physical theatre and puppetry, Certain Dark Things push the boundaries of contemporary theatre, creating work that is socially relevant and thoroughly entertaining. The company's first production The Girl Who Cannot Die, premiered at The Brighton Fringe in May 2015 and won the ‘Best of The Fest’ award before transferring to The Rose Theatre Kingston in July.
The company's new work, Melancholy, uses puppetry, animation and physical theatre to tell the story of one man as he treads the fine line between genius and insanity.
Once upon a time there lived an inventor, haunted by the loss of his wife. Hidden away in his basement, he struggles to recreate her and his obsession spirals out of control. But just beyond his window, the world outside is also beginning to fall apart...
