artsdepot open 2015 Prize Winners Announced

The winners of the artsdepot open, a diverse exhibition of work by emerging and established artists from Barnet and beyond, have been announced.
Two main prizes are awarded each year, supported by the Milly Apthorp Charitable Trust Continuation Fund. A first prize of £750 and second prize of £250 were awarded to the two most distinguished works by artists currently living, studying or working in the London Borough of Barnet. The winners of these prizes were chosen by Laurence Fenton of the Milly Apthorp Continuation Fund. In addition, a prize was awarded to a Young Artist, aged 13 – 19.
This year’s first prize winner was Judith Veal for her portrait sculpture Demi: determined – serene. Photographer Peter Steedman won second prize for Ramsey Window, and the Young Artist prize was awarded to Pouyan Ahsani for his painting Portraits.
artsdepot open is an opportunity for artists and aspiring artists to have their work shown in a professional gallery space at artsdepot and for visitors to the gallery to experience and purchase a wide variety of work. This year’s artsdepot open exhibition features a variety of mediums including sculpture, mixed media, photography, textiles and painting, and many of the works in the exhibition are for sale.
The artsdepot open exhibition is open until Friday 10 April (closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday), entry is free.
