Residency Dates: Mon 30 Jul – Fri 10 Aug
The Bone Ensemble is getting creative in artsdepot’s Creation Space! Building on the success of Where’s My Igloo Gone?, they’re starting to create a family show all about water. Where does it come from, what’s in it, what do we do with it? And why do we buy it in bottles?
A furious mermaid might make an appearance…
And some oily fish, and definitely some fishy oil…
A billion plastic bottles? A paddling pool!
They’ll explore the key story ideas and age range for a new participatory show, and introduce new design collaborations and exciting partnerships to begin to make the work. They want to find new ways to make theatre that’s also accessible to d/Deaf and EAL audiences.
The Bone Ensemble has been making things happen since 2002. Led by co-artistic directors Jill Dowse and Adam Ledger, the company create new work that is high quality, surprising and seeks to create meaningful encounters with its audiences. They have appeared in theatres, car parks, Austrian castles, Danish piazzas, schools, rural touring venues and galleries. Their last piece for children and families, Caravania! - a micronational experience in a touring caravan for audiences of six – toured to venues including the National Theatre and the RSC. They are currently touring Where's My Igloo Gone? nationally.
