Fun Palace 2021

Fun Palaces is a free nationwide celebration of art and science. Inspired by the vision of Joan Littlewood and architect Cedric Price who conceived the Fun Palace as a ‘laboratory of fun’, Fun Palaces take place all over the country, creating welcoming spaces for people to have fun and learn together.

Join us for a day of free activities for kids and grown ups. There will be arts, craft, science, technology, workshops, and lots more fun for everyone in every corner of the building.

Activities will include:

  • A planetarium
  • Plant pot painting
  • Animal mask making
  • A seascape art piece that we'll all contribute to
  • A sensory galaxy room
  • A Creative Explorers session
  • School of Noise
  • Ensonglopedia of Animals
  • A sound space and calm room
  • Bookswap for kids and grown-ups (don't forget to bring a book to swap!)

Plus more to be announced.

Venue: Throughout the building

Following the recent lifting of restrictions, we have kept some safety measures in place and are asking visitors to:

  • Scan the NHS Covid-19 Test & Trace QR code on arrival
  • Wear a face covering inside the building, including in the auditorium
  • Be aware of their proximity to others when moving around the building
  • Use contactless payment methods where possible
