Fevered Sleep: This Grief Thing

** THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment caused. **

This Grief Thing is a project that invites people to think, talk and learn about grief. It takes place in a series of shops around the UK where people can have conversations, and buy clothing and objects. In May / June 2020, the project will be coming to North Finchley and taking over a shop close to artsdepot.

We’re living at a time when many people find death and grief - our own grief or other people’s - almost impossible to talk about. We don’t know what to say, what to do, or how to act. So we stay silent, we pretend that grief doesn’t exist, or we hide it.

This Grief Thing pushes against this, by opening up conversations about grief and making it visible in the following ways:

Temporary Shops - Hosted by Sam Butler and David Harradine, the artistic directors of Fevered Sleep, featuring specially designed clothing, badges, bags and condolence cards at a pay what you want price, that can help conversations about grief to start.

Grief Gatherings - Small group conversations about grief facilitated by Sam and David, who guide people through a process of sharing thoughts, ideas and experiences.

Billboards - In each place they open a shop Fevered Sleep will also run a billboard and poster campaign, which asks the question "Can we talk about grief?"

Venue: Outside artsdepot, location TBC
