Reimagining Dance: Creating an Inclusive Community Online
An interactive, practical online session that will share the challenges and successes experienced by Juliet Diener and her team at icandance in responding to the pandemic.
The session will offer clear strategies in recreating an online community of inclusive dance practice demonstrated by practical examples from the journey icandance has taken to reimagine inclusive dance practice online. The session will offer participants the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas together and identify key elements in keeping your community connected and celebrating difference in the dance space online as well as in person.
The aims of the session are:
- To share experiences, develop strategies and explore current practice of inclusive dance online as well as face to face
- To gain greater knowledge and insight in working with those with disabilities through dance
- To inspire participants to reimagine dance in creating an inclusive, creative community for children and young people with disabilities and their families.
