Barnet & Culture for Youth: B&CY Teach Meets

An opportunity for Barnet Arts Specialist teachers (e.g. drama, dance, music, visual arts) to get together on Zoom. Join us to share challenges, successes, ask questions and offer peer support. This session will focus on The Pavilion’s use of drama to support their pupils. The team will share some practical tools and techniques, followed by an opportunity for participants to network and connect.

The Pavilion is an alternative provision which caters for young people with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Drama plays a fundamental role in our Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculums, both as a therapeutic strategy and as a GCSE subject in its own right. The team at The Pavilion currently use Drama to tackle a range of topics that have become more prominent during the pandemic has such as exploitation , loneliness, the increased use of social media  and how the pandemic has impacted young people's education. In this session, the team will share ideas in the hope that other professionals, and consequently young people, may benefit from this.
