World Book Day

Costume Ideas for World Book Day

| Tue 28 Feb 2017

World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading! As the 20th year of World Book Day is just around the corner on (Thu 2 Mar), we’ve found some quick and easy tutorials to transform your little ones into the main protagonists from: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Room on the Broom.

Whether you decide to have a go at recreating the Witch from Julia Donaldson’s Room on the Broom, the Caterpillar with a very healthy appetite from Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar or the tea-guzzling Tiger from Judith Kerr’s The Tiger Who Came to Tea we’d love to see your literary inspired costumes. So please tag us on Twitter: @artsdepot, Facebook: artsdepotLDN or Instagram artsdepot_LDN.

If you do share one of these World Book Day inspired costumes on social media, you'll be in with a chance to win tickets to see one of the following shows at artsdepot*:

Happy making! (don't worry - we've made sure that no sewing is required to create these costumes!)

* One winner will be selected for each show, and will receive a family ticket (for 4 people). Winners will be notified by Fri 10 Mar.
