We are delighted to announce the winners of 2017’s artsdepot Open, a diverse exhibition of work by emerging and established artists from Barnet and beyond.
Selected by a panel of arts professionals including members from the House of Illustration and the Barbican, prizes are awarded to the two most distinguished works by artists currently living, studying or working in the London Borough of Barnet, with a first prize of £750 and a second prize of £250. For the second year we have also awarded the artsdepot Open Prize of £500, to an artist who does not live, work or study in the London Borough of Barnet. Along with these awards, the Young Artist Prize is presented to an artist aged between 13 - 19.
This year’s first prize was awarded to photographer Miranda Lopatkin for The Glance. The second prize was presented to Leah Thomason Bromberg for her oil on canvas Driveway (Winter). Shirley Nette Williams won the artsdepot Open Prize for the mixed media work Slab 1 and the Young Artist Prize was awarded to 16 year old Allen Gyimah for Corrine, a drawing made with watercolour and marker pen.
