The winners of the artsdepot Open, a diverse exhibition of work by emerging and established artists from Barnet and beyond, have been announced.
There are prizes awarded to the two most distinguished works by artists currently living, studying or working in the London Borough of Barnet, thanks to the generous support of the Milly Apthorp Charitable Trust Continuation Fund. The Milly Apthorp Prize includes a first prize of £750 and a second prize of £250. This year artsdepot introduced a new prize. The artsdepot Open Prize of £500 is selected by a prestigious panel of arts professionals and artsdepot staff and awarded to an artist who does not live, work or study in the London Borough of Barnet. In addition, a prize is awarded to a Young Artist, aged 13 – 19.
This year’s Milly Apthorp Prize first prize winner was Kirsty Kemp for sculpture On a Wire and second prize was awarded to photographer Michael Lee for London’s Pouring V. The artsdepot Open Prize was awarded to Alison Griffin for her drawings The Land of No Shadows Part 1 & Part 2 and the Young Artist prize was awarded to 16 year old Jade Duncan – Knight for the work A Dragon’s Flight using 3D modelling program ZBrush.
