Fringe theatre in North London wins Love London Award for second year running
artsdepot has been voted London’s Best Neighbourhood Theatre as part of Smooth Radio Love London Awards 2010.
Londoners were asked to cast their vote in an online poll, run by Smooth Radio in conjunction with Allinlondon.co.uk. Beating off stiff competition from other London venues such as Soho Theatre and Stratford Circus, artsdepot, a multi-art form venue, took home the Best Neighbourhood Theatre award for the second year in a row.
The award ceremony, hosted by Drivetime presenter Paul Coia, took place at the Café De Paris in Leicester Square. The Love London Awards are a celebration of London life and hidden gems tucked away in the city.
The winning result was announced by actor and singer David Essex OBE, who also presented the award. Voters described artsdepot as a “state of the art venue with a warm and inviting atmosphere”, and “a gem of a theatre with a diversity of different acts – everything here for young and old”.
“I am thrilled that we have won this award for the second year in a row,” says Nigel Cutting, Director of artsdepot. “It is especially remarkable that we have built up such a loyal audience given that we are such a young organisation. We look forward to continuing to develop our programme and our audience, bringing all kinds of exciting and entertaining activity to all sorts of people.”
