Gallery Opening Hours

During exhibition periods the Apthorp Gallery is open between 12.00- 4.00PM daily and between 6.00PM- 8.00PM on selected performance evenings.

The gallery has a close working relationship with its immediate community, best exemplified by our work with a team of around 30 local volunteers, who invigilate the gallery during opening hours. Our volunteers inform our audience development work and play a vital role in embedding the organisation in the local context. You can find out more about volunteering opportunities by emailing gallery@artsdepot.co.uk.

As the gallery is staffed by volunteers opening times may vary. We recommend that you call the Box Office to confirm opening times before visiting.

Gallery talks and activities

The events programme offers the opportunity to meet exhibition artists and curators as well as offering a chance to learn about contemporary art making more generally, past speakers include artist Ed Pien, writer and lecturer Simon Baker and artist Michael Craig-Martin.

Hiring the gallery

The gallery is occasionally available for hire to artists on a weekly/monthly basis. For further information please click here.

The foyer wall outside the gallery is also available for hire for local artists and community groups to show their work. It can be hired on a monthly basis for £180 + VAT. If you would like to hire this space please e-mail examples of your work along with an expression of interest to gallery@artsdepot.co.uk.
